What was tackled

During my time at Publicis Sapient, I had the opportunity to work on the Walmart Canada app. I contributed to the redesign of a faulty filtering experience and helped modernize the shelf and product display pages across both general merchandise and grocery.

What was achieved

4.4

App Store rating, up from 3.8 within a couple of months.

12%

Faster product discovery after the filter redesign.

Implementation of new UI and micro-interactions released incrementally to all users that helped provide clear in-app feedback, product discoverability and ease of navigation.

My personal learnings

An exciting and rewarding project from start to finish. Redesigning an app used by millions, including people I know personally was both humbling and inspiring. It was a great effort with engineering and product to modernize the app, improve speed, discoverability, and align it with the grocery experience. A key challenge was getting buy-in on micro-interactions, that would elevate the overall experience. It pushed me to better communicate their value in guiding behavior and improving flow A personal highlight: many of the UI components I designed were later used as the foundation for the new Walmart design system.
